  1. Always be yourself. Being true and authentic is a great way to approach an interview and helps kick start a great conversation.
  2. Research and prepare. Do your research into the firm. To get a better understanding of us and the type of work we do, visit our careers site.
  3. Use examples. Prepare specific examples that you believe will demonstrate your skills. Familiarise yourself with the STAR method, this will help you to clearly articulate what you did, why, what the outcome was and the impact you had.
  4. Talk about your experience. We want to hear about your previous experience and please don't discount your non legal work. What makes you a well- rounded candidate? Tell us what motivates you and share your interests with us!
  5. Show self-awareness. Understand your strengths and weaknesses. By reflecting on your own performance, and knowing what you do well and where you have room for improvement, you will be able to construct better responses.
  6. Practice! Practice your examples with a friend to build confidence in your delivery. It's always comforting to walk into an interview with solid examples you feel confident articulating.
  7. Ask questions. This is your opportunity to learn more about the firm and build rapport with the people interviewing you. Prepare some questions beforehand and a hot tip, follow the firm on LinkedIn where we share further insight into MinterEllison.
